With the new Big Bang Original Soft Touch, Hublot introduces an entirely new sensory dimension to its icon: an exclusive textured rubber compound applied across the case, bezel, dial and strap, creating a finish that is — quite literally — remarkably soft to the touch.
This is not a coating or a surface treatment. The compound is developed through a dedicated overmoulding process, with specially engineered tooling that integrates the texture directly into the material during production. Its microscopic surface structure, composed of thousands of fine micro-elements, delivers exceptional softness while preserving the durability expected of Hublot’s signature rubber. It is, as the Manufacture puts it, a new way of building a watch.
Two models carry the innovation, each drawn from a milestone in Hublot’s material history. The All Black continues the radical monochrome concept introduced in 2006 — where the absence of colour became a way to reveal form and architecture — pairing a deep black titanium case with black DLC-coated pushers. Twenty years on, All Black is no longer only seen; it is felt. The All Red pays tribute to the world’s first vividly coloured high-tech ceramic, Hublot’s 2018 breakthrough, transforming its intense signature red into pure sensation.
Beneath the tactile surface, the 43 mm titanium case houses the in-house Unico chronograph calibre — column wheel, dual-clutch architecture and a skeletonised tungsten rotor open-worked in the shape of an H — delivering a 72-hour power reserve. A carbon-pattern dial with raised counters, curved lugs, a rubber-clad crown and Hublot’s One Click interchangeable strap system complete the picture.
From Magic Gold to coloured ceramics and sapphire, Hublot’s Art of Fusion has always been about expanding what a watch can be. The Big Bang Original Soft Touch adds a first to that lineage: an innovation defined not by how it looks, but by how it feels.
