Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo

High horology meets heady horsemanship at polo’s ultimate clash of the titans.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of AlUla’s sandstone canyons, the 2025 Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo tournament returned with serious flair from January 16 to 18. Staged at AlFursan Equestrian Village, it’s the world’s only modern polo tournament played in the desert, drawing royalty, pro players and polo aficionados from across the globe. With six elite teams battling it out, the tournament delivered both sporting spectacle and high-society buzz, helped along by curated luxury experiences and AlUla’s irresistible landscapes.
With Adolfo Cambiaso and his son, new polo world number one Poroto, in attendance, it was always going to be an interesting weekend. But in a tightly-contested final, Team Richard Mille — featuring Pablo MacDonough, Clare Milford Haven and Mohammed Al-Sewedy — triumphed over Team Ikmah with an 8–6 win. Prince Hamza bin Abbas earned best player, Nacho Figueras top scorer, and Obsolete was named best horse. The tournament fused high-octane sport with immersive culture and style, reaffirming AlUla’s rising status as a global polo and lifestyle destination, and signalling even bigger ambitions ahead.
